Depending on your skin type and coarse of hair, some people initially find a level of discomfort that subsides over a period of regular waxing. If you have a low pain tolerance, you can take an ibuprofen half hour prior to your appointment.
Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch long before waxing to ensure all the different lengths of growth are captured. If you are a first timer, we recommend you allow up to 2-4 weeks since the last time you shaved(depending on how fast the hair grows). You don’t need it very long either so don’t wait too long to come us!
Most Definitely! As long as you place in a new tampon right before your appointment starts. However, you are more sensitive during this time & at least 3 days before your cycle starts. Schedule your wax appointment accordingly if you know you tend to be more sensitive during your cycle.
Definitely! You can still get waxed when you are pregnant unless your Doctor advises not to.
I always suggest to start waxing in your early stage so that you get used to the wax by the time you are at your last trimester.
After birth, wait at least 8 weeks before you come in for your next wax appointment.
Take a warm shower/bath at least 2 hours before the appointment. This helps the skin to soften up and the pores to open
Wear loose clothing as in yoga pants or basketball shorts.
Take an ibuprofen at least 30 mins prior to wax appointment.
Avoid alcohol/caffeine at least 2-3 hours before the appointment. This can cause the skin to be more sensitive by in-taking alcohol/caffeine too close to your appointment.
Hydrate with lots of water. Waxing over dehydrated skin can cause sensitivity or waxing over dry skin which can cause discomfort.
We strongly suggest not shaving or trimming between visits but we understand that sometimes it’s hard to get to the salon. If possible we suggest making your waxing appointments closer together if you do have the urge to trim or shave in between visits. Sticking with regular waxing treatments will ensure that the hair grows in thinner each time.
